Current Vacancies:

Civil and Structural Team

We are currently looking for a Structural engineer. This is a full time office based  design role.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3  but preferably 5  years structural design experience. They will be preparing to achieve chartered status with Engineers Ireland/I Struct E

They need to have strong design capabilities in steel  and concrete  framed structures and sub structure design. They should also be able to design storm and foul drainage systems.

Experience of life science projects would be helpful but not essential. Strong and clear communication skills are important.

They will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment so they will need to demonstrate an awareness of the collaborative process within the design of building structures.

We will not consider candidates that do not currently have the appropriate permits or visas to work in Ireland/EU.

We are currently looking for a  Junior Structural Engineer: This is a full time office based  design role.

Candidates should have 2-3 years post graduate experience in structural design  and in particular the design for steel and concrete structures and sub structures. Good working knowledge of structural analysis modelling and design suites is essential( Tekla)

 Candidates will be expected to be progressing towards Engineers Ireland Chartership and have a keen interest in Engineering and the Construction Industry.

Strong and clear communication skills are important.

They will be working in a multi disciplinary environment and should demonstrate an awareness of the collaborative aspects of structural design.

We are currently looking for a  a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Design Technician with previous highways or small to medium scale civils projects  and drainage experience. This role is office based and is a full-time permanent role.

You will understand the importance of providing cost effective drawings in accordance with the brief provided, whilst adhering to time frames and financial constraint.

Candidates should have a degree or higher diploma in civil engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ experience on design/drafting projects. An excellent understanding of AutoCAD and Site 3D is essential and a  good understanding of Microdrainage would be ideal but is not essential. Candidates should be fully conversant with civil engineering standards, have a good understanding of Planning and Building regulations.

 McElroy Associates have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Architect to join our expanding team of architectural professionals.

 We are a multidiscipline practice focused on the industrial/Life Sciences sector with in house Architects, Civil and Structural Engineers, plus (MEP) Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineers – about 40 strong based in Dublin city centre.  Our Clients are principally in the pharmaceutical sector working on a range of design typologies including manufacturing buildings including process rooms i.e. cleanrooms, laboratories, warehousing, high spec offices, staff facilities, plant buildings etc.   

 The successful candidate will be working as Senior Project Architect leading the design on a variety of projects developed in BIM (Revit) for large multinational organisations from large scale green field development to small/medium scale existing building renovation and fit out where coordination between disciplines is key.

 This is an exciting opportunity to define and develop this role with the successful candidate working principally as sustainability energy subject matter expert (SME) The role will include:

 §  Introducing and promoting MEA Sustainability Consultancy to Clients.

§  Contribute to and coordinate the multidiscipline design of sustainable and energy efficient buildings both new build and retrofit.

§  Assess project requirements and advising on sustainability/energy considerations supported by in house Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team.

§  Develop and coordinate architectural building fabric design/specification and associated M&E installation required to achieve Part L/NZEB requirements and other sustainability criteria.

§  Project Management support of projects leveraging off the standard architectural PM skill set including Planning and Building Regulation requirements.

Mechanical and Electrical Team

We currently have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our team. The position will be based in our offices at 69 Leeson Street Lower, Dublin 2 and the successful candidate will work on a variety of projects in the Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Commercial Sectors from initial concept through to detailed design and handover

Requirements:

·        Level 7/8 with experience

·        Good knowledge of electrical building services design

·        Some knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit

·        Good knowledge of Design software

·        Have a good knowledge of practical Building Services Engineering Design in the Industrial / Pharmaceutical Environment

·        Be motivated and capable of directing the work of more Junior staff Take responsibility for delivering good quality Engineering designs

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Preparation, evaluation and optimization of design concepts

·        Develop electrical building services designs/specifications from customer briefs

·        Conduct feasibility studies on new designs.

·        Lead and/or participate in design and review meetings.

·        Generate designs in accordance with current codes, guidelines and best practice

·        Develop cost estimates and tender documents
